Fire danger in view. Better prepared in the field.
An information system that combines weather forecasts and satellite data to calculate and map wildfire danger. It helps HALO Trust plan demining operations in Ukraine, study fires and estimate the greenhouse gas emissions they produce.
Fire danger, mapped daily. Better prepared in the field.+

The challenge
Field teams need an up-to-date picture of where wildfire danger is increasing. This requires regular weather forecasts, satellite observations and scientific models to work together, with results available as clear maps rather than separate datasets. The platform supports preparedness in the areas where HALO Trust operates in Ukraine.

Our contribution
Our team developed software components, automated the collection of weather forecasts and configured the operating system, server services and processing schedules. We prepared forecast data for the calculation grid and connected the data flows needed by the system. We also configured operating parameters and provided technical support. This work helps the platform turn regularly updated data and the project’s scientific models into accessible web maps.
